When Do You Introduce The Kids To Your Boyfriend?

Celebrity lives seem to move much faster... shorter engagements, quicker divorces, whirlwind relationships... no different for JLo.
But how soon is too soon to introduce your children to your significant other??
Merely, months after her divorce became official in July from Marc Anthony, JLo wasted no time in hitting the dating scene. She was linked for a short time to hottie Bradley Cooper and now, all of a sudden a 24 year-old backup dancer, Casper Smart. She's currently on a Hawaiian vacation with Casper AND her 3-year-old twins and it seems irresponsible to me.
When my mom was dating my now step-dad, it was at least a year before she introduced us to him. She wanted to make sure he at least had long-term potential. (12 years later, it's obvious that he did.)
Is a few months of dating someone too soon to involve your kids? Or do you prefer to keep everything out in the open and not keep secrets from the children?
