Wings Spank Islanders

Jimmy Howard made 28 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Detroit Red Wings pounded the New York Islanders 5-0 on Friday for their third win in a row,  Darren Helm and Daniel Alfredsson each had two goals and an assist, while Gustav Nyquist added a goal.  The Red Wings play at Ottawa on Sunday.
