A man accused in the murder of an 86-year old Lapeer County woman six years ago will stand trial. 43-year old Frank Choate of Sandusky was bound over to Lapeer County Circuit Court following his preliminary hearing Tuesday on a felony murder charge.
Authorities believe Marie Warren was killed during a break-in at her Deerfield Township home on October 1, 2006. Choate was initially arrested in July 2011 on charges connected to the break-in after authorities matched his DNA which was already filed in the state system. Now he's accused of beating Warren to death and then dumping her body in a field near his house. Choate is currently jailed in Lapeer County on one million dollars bond. He will be back in court later this month.
