The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office says a 57-year-old man appears to have accidentally drowned in a pond in Lamotte Township, and it looks like alcohol is believed to be a factor.  Authorities say the incident began about 7 Tuesday night as rescue crews responded to a pond along Moore Road east of Germania Road after a passerby called 911.  The deceased, Robert Earl Baer,of the Sandusky area was removed from the pond and pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy is scheduled and officials say initial investigations are consistent with an accidental drowning.
