The St. Clair County Board of Commissioners met Thursday night for their committee sessions, with the seven members approving and sending on to the full board for approval a professional services contract with local architect Dave French, who designed the new Marysville High School. Chair Jeff Bohm says French will oversee certain design aspects of the Blue Water Area Convention Center, with an emphasis placed on it being a state of the art facility. He says the aim is to start with designs on the inside of the structure and work out from there. The board Thursday night also approved a few years worth of interlocal agreements with Macomb County for Homeland Security projects. The county's Jeff Friedland says Macomb acts as the financial agent for the federal government for the seven counties involved in the agreement. Advanced training, improvements to the local emergency siren system and mass care units are all on the list for upgrades, with funding coming from the federal government.
