Unlucky number 13... that's the number of crashes reported this morning by local officials.  According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, 13 crashes were reported between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.  It appears the reason for the increased number was the moisture in the air and below freezing temperatures causing “black ice” on the roadways.  Sheriff Donnellon says as we move thoirugh the winter months that drivers use extreme caution, especially in the early morning hours.
