The ship Wednesday morning minutes before the sale.

BRAMBLE BOUGHT

The ship is smiling....words from Robert Klingler who along with his wife Sarah are now the owners of the United States Coast Guard Cutter Bramble. Don't look for the ship to move anytime soon though as the Marine City couple say she will be based here with tours and perhaps even excursions in the not to distant future.  A dream finally came true Wednesday morning during the signing ceremony according to the Executive Director of the Museum, Susan Bennett.  The Port Huron Museum had owned and operated the ship as a historical tourist attraction until recently.  Attempts to sell the vessel had gone on for several months. The Klinglers plan to offer the ship up for tours as early as March under a three year deal with Acheson Ventures which keeps the historic craft docked near the Seaway Terminal.

An onboard closing on the sale with new owners Sarah and Robert Klingler and signing a document, Juanita Gittings, Chair of the Museum Board of Trustees:
