A Florida man took a big gulp out of a wine bottle while answering questions about his drinking - after being pulled over by cops. Witnesses called police to report that Derral McGinnis was driving erratically and drinking behind the wheel, and caught up with him just as he turned the wrong way down a one way street. He pulled over without incident, but as officer Erica Kay approached his vehicle, she saw him pull out a bottle of Pinot Grigio and take a hearty pull from it. Kay also found a loaded rifle on the seat next to McGinnis, who identified it as his - but when she ran the plates, she found that McGinnis had taken both the SUV and gun from a sleeping friend. He's been booked on a variety of charges.
A California man got more of a charge than he bargained for when he tried to juice up his cell phone, only to have it explode - because he was getting high by huffing propane at the same time. The man was parked on a suburban Los Angeles street inhaling the intoxicating, but extremely flammable, gas when he got the urge to charge his phone - creating a spark that blew off the roof of his truck and burned a good bit of skin off his face and chest. He exited the vehicle and passed out on a lawn, where first responders picked him up and transported him to a hospital. A police spokesman said, "Propane is a dangerous gas. This guy is the luckiest guy in the world. You can’t make this stuff up."
A Texas cop is about to be fired after stealing an expensive pair of sneakers during a drug raid. Sergeant Antoine Williams was part of a team that stormed into a suspected drug dealing location, but left without finding anything in the way of narcotics. Marquis Green, who lives in the house, wasn't there at the time, but cops picked him up a few blocks later and charged him with running a red light, which he denies doing. Green said, "They didn't find no drugs in the house at all. They just took shoes that I ain't never wore." Besides the Air Jordans, Green says Williams made off with cash and a Grand Theft Auto game, charges that have landed him a suspension.
