MURDER TRIAL CONTINUES TUESDAY.

A 53-year old Port Huron man is on trial in St. Clair County Circuit Court, accused in the throat slashing death this past summer of a 26-year old city resident.  Michael Poole is charged with open murder in the death of David Long.  Port Huron Police say the incident happened June 7th as several people were sitting around a bonfire along the 600-block of Stanton Street.  Witnesses say the two men were involved in an argument that day, with Poole allegedly approaching Long and cutting his throat with a knife.  Long died at a local hospital and Poole was taken into custody early the next morning.  The trial began last week in Judge Daniel Kelly's courtroom.  Proceedings included jury selection, opening arguments, and witnesses testifying.  The trial is expected to continue tomorrow
