The Detroit Tigers traded pitcher Doug Fister on Monday night to the Washington Nationals for three players. The Tigers acquire 22 year old left handed pitcher Robbie Ray, who is listed as the seventh top prospect for the Nats. Ray has not pitched higher than AA baseball in the minors and is expected to play in the minors for the Tigers next season. Detroit also gets 22 year old left handed reliever Ian Krol. Krol appeared in 32 games last season and pitched 27.1 innings with a 2-1 record and 3.95 ERA. Last season was his first in the Big Leagues. The final players obtained in the trade is 25 year old utility player Steve Lombardozzi. A switch hitter with a career .264 average, hit .259 last season with 2 homers and 22 RBI in 118 games. He has spent three seasons in the majors and can play all infield positions as well as in the outfield.
