Trying to make a better community, especially for those in need... that's how longtime local community advocate Earl Shoulders Jr. is being remembered this week wit news of his passing at the age of 73. Shoulders served and worked for numerous local organizations, including the Port Huron Housing Commission. Shoulders also worked for the St. Clair County court system for over 30 years and retired in 2003. He was also involved in many local organizations, including the Blue Water Festival Committee, the Port Huron and Detroit Railroad Historical Society, Blue Water Citizens Against Crime, and the Southside Coalition. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. Service will be at 12:00 noon on Monday in Faith Christian Community Church, 1640 Cleveland Avenue. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
