Tigers Bats Go Cold

Phil Hughes held the Tigers off the board for seven innings and the Minnesota Twins eked out a 2-1 win over Detroit on Friday night at Comerica Park.  The Twins scored both their runs off Justin Verlander in the seventh to break a scoreless tie.  Alex Avila doubled in the only Tigers run in the ninth to break the shutout, but Rajai Davis struck out with the tying run at second base to end the game.  The teams play again on Saturday afternoon.
