Stupid News for 5/22/14

A Florida man ended up behind bars after he attempted to pay a fine at the Bay County Courthouse using fake bills. John Jernigan was arrested and charged with 13 counts of uttering a counterfeit bill after he allegedly tried to pay a $400 trespassing fine with a collection of bills that had the same serial number. A courthouse clerk noticed that the $20 bills looked funny and alerted a deputy. When he was confronted, Jernigan at first claimed that he got the phony cash as pay from his employer, but later told police that he didn't know where he had received the fake funds. At the time of his arrest, Jernigan had 26 counterfeit bills with him.

Shandra Mickel was arrested on a domestic battery charge after Sheriff's investigators were called to her house because of an early-morning domestic disturbance. According to Mickel's 15-year-old son, his mom and stepfather had kept him awake all night by playing loud music, leaving him exhausted when it was time to go to school. After taking a while to get out of bed, the boy got in the shower only to have the two adults in the home begin banging on the door and yelling, "Get the eff out of the shower." Things eventually turned physical and the boy ended up restraining her by holding her against the wall. A neighbor confirmed to police officers that the "son was not the aggressor."  Mickel, who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and kept nodding off,was arrested and booked while deputies brought her son to school.

A man who was captured on video diving into a car's sunroof and allegedly attacking its female driver while nude has been caught by Dallas police. The head-first sunroof dive was filmed by local resident Marcus Payne. The unnamed victim's car crashed following the attack and sustained $3,000 worth of damage. She said, "He started choking me, pulling my hair, pulling my eyes, and I couldn't do anything. I don't know how much longer that attack would have lasted if the police weren't there. I feel more afraid, more aware of everything around me...like a prisoner." Police suspect that the man was high on drugs during the incident. It's unclear what he has been charged with, if anything, at this time.
