Another 9th Inning Meltdown

The game was scoreless after eight innings of play as starters Anibal Sanchez and Drew Hutchison went toe to toe, combining to allow just five hits.   However, the Toronto Blue Jays exploded for five runs in the top of the ninth, scoring four off Joe Nathan.  Brett Lawrie hit a three run home run for Toronto.  In the bottom of the ninth JD Martinez got the Tigers on the scoreboard with a three run home run, but Don Kelly struck out on three pitches to end the game.  Toronto's 5-3 win is its third in a row, while the Tigers have now lost three in a row.  Game two of the series is Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
