LOCAL AREA VA OFFICES RECEIVING SUPPORT

The US House unanimously passed legislation Tuesday that will let veterans get care outside Veterans Affairs facilities and avoid long wait times.  The Veterans Access to Care Act was co-sponsored by Michigan Congresswoman Candice Miller, who says it provides non-VA care options to veterans who might be subject to wait times over 14 days or who live over 40 miles from a VA medical facility.  The Harrison Township Republican says a recent internal VA audit found them failing to provide vets with the care they need. Miller says while VA facilities in Yale and Bad Axe have received outstanding support and feedback, there's always room for improvement.
