Thrill rides, games of chance on the midway, and that great carnival food... it's all at the Big Rock Amusement Carnival this week at the south McMorran parking lot in downtown Port Huron. The carnival runs until Saturday night and Big Rock's Matt McDonagh tells us while last year saw the carnival at Desmond Landing, this year it's back to a previous location. The carnival will be in a new location next year as the site is scheduled to become the home to a new bus transfer center and parking area. This week though it is back to the carnival location of old with plenty of rides and entertainment. McDonagh says some of the thrill rides this year include the Gravitron, the Himalaya, and the Extreme. There's also about a dozen rides available for the little ones, but they have to be at least 36-inches tall to get on. For the kiddies McDonagh says a new one is the Wiggle Worm, which goes up and down and around in circles. $20-dollar armband tickets will be available for certain days and normal ticket prices are $1-dollar each, or they have a value pack of 24 tickets for $20-dollars. The rides require 2-to-5 tickets each.
