This year's yacht race to Mackinac will again also feature a chance for those with autism spectrum disorder to sail back from the island on a boat with the 2nd annual Set Sail for Autism event. Organizer Tom Riopelle says the event allows for a couple young people with autism and their families to get out of their comfort zone, which is a great way to help them all grow and develop. Participants will be making the return trip from Mackinac to Port Huron after the race ceremonies, with Captain Paul Latham and Skipper Dan Collins on the boat Engager. A host of other activities for those with autism and their families will be taking place during Boat Week, including a concert Thursday at the Seaway Terminal. The concert features Pat Dailey and gets underway at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks show. Tickets are $35.
