TESTIMONY BEGINS IN DOUBLE MURDER TRIAL

A Port Huron man accused in a double homicide last summer at an apartment complex will be standing trial this week.  Officials at the St. Clair County Court house say a jury has been seated and testimony is to begin in the case of Manuel Gamez.  He's charged with two counts of open murder, two counts of torture and one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct.  Port Huron Police say the case began July 30th last year when the bodies of 26-year-old Melissa Ichenberg and 29-year-old Daniel McRoberts were found in Ichenberg's apartment at the Gratiot Village apartment complex.
