Tigers Bats On Vacation

The Detroit Tigers managed just five hits and scored only one run (thanks to an error) in a 5-1 loss to the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.  Justin Verlander pitched seven strong innings, but gave up solo home runs to Brian McCann and Chase Headley to take the loss.  The Detroit bullpen allowed three runs to score in the eighth to put the game out of reach.  The final game of a four game series is Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
