PORT HURON HOSPITAL UP FOR SALE?

GASOLINE PRICES UP A DIME OVER LAST WEEK



AAA Michigan says the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular rose to 3.88 in Michigan this week. Some local pumps were nearly $4.00 a gallon Monday afternoon.

NEW TOURIST TROT EVENT SET FOR MUSEUM



The Port Huron Museum is sponsoring a 5-K run and 2-K walk on June 1st, the same day as the "Be A Tourist in Your Own Town”" event.  The run/walk begins 9:00 a.m. at the Fort Gratiot Light Station.  Registered participants receive a T-shirt, with awards and refreshments immediately following the race on the lighthouse grounds.  Early registration for the 5-K runs

CLICK IT OR TICKET CAMPAIGN BEGINS



Saint Clair, Sanilac, Lapeer, and Macomb counties are among those that begin seat belt enforcement zones tomorrow for the annual “Click it or Ticket” campaign.  Michigan’s Office of Highway Safety Planning says 800 such zones will be set up across the state through June 4th.
 
 

HOOK LINE AND SINKER MARBLEYE CLASSIC WAS A SUCCESS

Governor Rick Snyder has signed into law allowances for school districts to extend hours of the day instead of extending the calendar to make up for snow days.
 

MARLETTE STUDENT ART DISPLAYED IN CAPITOL OFFICE


 
Senator Mike Green announced that an impressive art collection, from the Marlette Elementary School students, of fine arts teacher Sarah Opperman is now on display in his Capitol office. The collection is based on a lighthouse and lakeshore theme that is particularly appropriate to Michigan considering it has more lighthouses and freshwater shoreline than any other state in the nation.
