Last Place Twins Sweep Tigers

The last place Minnesota Twins swept the Detroit Tigers in a two game series at Comerica Park, with a 4-3 win on Thursday afternoon.  The Tigers had just four hits in the game, three of which were solo home runs, hit by Brennan Boesch, Andy Dirks, and Prince Fielder.  However the Tigers fell behind 4-0 and could not come all the way back.  Detroit will continue its home stand on

USA And Canada Out Of Tournament

Both the United States and Canada were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the World Hockey Championships on Thursday in Helsinki, Finland.  The United States, which had gone 6-1-0 in preliminary play, fell to host Finland 3-2.  The American's led 2-1 in the third and gave up the winning goal with just nine seconds left in the game.  The U.S. team included Red Wings Jimmy Howard

Last Place Twins Beat Tigers

The Minnesota Twins out slugged the Detroit Tigers 11-7 on Wednesday night in the opening game of a two game series at Comerica Park.  The Twins out hit the Tigers 14-11 and Detroit commited four errors in the game.  Andy Dirks had three hits and an RBI, while Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder each drove in two runs.  The teams rematch on Thursday afternoon.
