Port Huron Police are searching for the vehicle believed involved in a hit and run fatal pedestrian accident early Wednesday morning. An 79-year-old-woman, believed to be from the local area, was found lying and injured in the one-thousand block of Oak Street which is between 10th and 11th on Port Huron's south side. Police say they got the call at about 6:22 AM. Although there was no immediate description of the car or truck that hit the woman they do believe that a silver painted vehicle was involved. In addition to seeking the public's help on the vehicle description police are asking for help in identifying the woman who was killed. Lt. Scott Pike says to give their department a call with any information that you may have available on the incident. The woman involved in the fatality is believed to have been from the area but homeless. Police describe her as a white female with salt and pepper hair who was wearing several layers of clothing at the time. She had on pink shoes at the time of the accident and was pulling a burgundy colored suitcase. Any information available should be given to police at 984-9715 or anonymously on the CAPTURE Hotline at 987-6688.
