The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office is investigating skeletal remains found Sunday on State Game Land; off of State Road, about a half mile south of Birch Road in Burtchville Township. The remains where found by some hunters following a deer blood trail. Officers from the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding area. More human bones were found in the immediate vicinity. The Sheriff notes the investigations are still in the preliminary stage, and that more information will be made available as investigations continue. The Sheriff's Department is working with the Michigan State Police on forensic facial reconstruction of the skull. Missing persons cases are also being reviewed.
