The Community Foundation of St. Clair County, the largest grant making foundation in Michigan's Thumb Region, has been helping communities in St. Clair County since 1944. Recently, the foundation has been working to establish a new type of scholarship, a Reverse Scholarship. President of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, Randy Maiers says that Reverse Scholarships will help you pay off student loans after you graduate but you have to have local ties and move back into the area . He notes they are still working through the legal hurdles, but that there's been a lot of interest in Reverse Scholarships from all over Michigan, and even as far away as Hawaii. The foundation also received a $200,000 donation last week from Gerry Kramer, founder and owner of Kramer Commercial Reality, to establish a new donor advised fund named the "Gerry Kramer Spartan Fund." The fund will be used to provide a broad range of charitable support in and around Port Huron
