City of St. Clair Mayor Bill Cedar, Jr. has announced that the historic St. Clair Inn has been sold. Planet Clair, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company, purchased the Inn this week. Jeff Katofsky, managing member of Planet Clair, stated his company is completing an assessment of the property in order to re-open the hotel and restaurant, which has been closed since January 2014. “We look forward to beginning work on this project as soon as possible,” said Katofsky. Mayor Cedar welcomed the news. “The St. Clair Inn plays an important role in our community. I am excited by this development.” He says the new owners, based in California, plan on keeping the Inn's historic theme. It could open early next year after planned improvements to all of the around 90-rooms.
