A new office located at 500 Water Street in downtown Port Huron was unveiled by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. Although the foundation’s new office was opened officially on March 10th, the public meet and greet was held Tuesday afternoon. It’s important to have offices in downtown says President Randy Maiers,to have a place of your own that you own it is exactly what we wanted. Maiers says, the reception they’ve received from local businesses has been great. The foundation is just happy to be back apart of the community. Although it’s only March, Maiers notes that the foundation has already given away $700,000 this year. The new office, previously a Bank drive-thru, was renovated by the foundation to include a new meeting room, dedicated to Douglas R. Austin. Austin, was a strong supporter of the foundation, who died in 2012. More information on the community foundation of St. Clair County can be found at: stclairfoundation.org.
