Several parks in Port Huron are getting a face lift so to speak. Lakeside Park is seeing a new splashpad taking shape, along with new concessions and bathrooms. And thanks to recent grants from the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, a tot park at 19th and Division Street will see new upgrades to it’s playscape, as well as a new type of swing at Lincoln Park. Port Huron Parks and Rec Director Nancy Winzer says, the foundation has donated $20,000, which will be used the new type of swing at the park called “Cruise Line”. The swing, which fits up-to six children ages 5-12, simulates the feeling of flying. More piece’s will be added to the park using that money as well, says Winzer, but no hints are being given. Wheel chair swings will also be added to Lakeside and Pine Grove Parks thanks to another donation by the community foundation. Winzer notes, children of all abilities should be able to enjoy playground equipment.
