Busy times for the Animal Control Center

Hundreds of animals in St. Clair County are in need of a good home. If you’re looking for a new addition to the family, the local Animal Control Center just may have that special pet. They had a busy year in 2015, says St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, with 223 dogs finding new homes as well as returning over 300 dogs to their owners. He adds that without a collar it’s hard to find the owners, but if you can afford to have microchip implanted they do have a machine to check. They are always looking for help at the center to walk the dogs, says Donnellon. Port Huron Motor Cycle Club even lets the dogs walk along their tracks. The Sheriff notes that they make sure to clean up any messes. If you would like to volunteer, or are looking for a new addition to the family, call their office at: 810-984-3155. The St. Clair County Animal Control Center is located at 3378 Griswold Road in Port Huron.
