JD Martinez returned with a bang on Wednesday night, smashing a pinch hit home run in the bottom of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie and give the Detroit Tigers a 2-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. It was the first at bat for Martinez since he broke his elbow in late June. Detroit goes for its third straight series sweep on Thursday afternoon, when they face the Sox in the final game of a three game set at Comerica Park.
