Danville blew open a 2-2 game late in the third period and went on to beat the Port Huron Prowlers 5-3 on Friday night in Port Huron’s season opening game. Jimmy Sopel had three goals for the Dashers, while Shayne Morrissey added two. The Prowlers got goals from Dustin Jesseau, Ian Hoang, and Matt Graham. The teams will rematch in Danville on Saturday, before Port Huron plays its home opener a week from Friday at McMorran Arena against North Shore.
