Enbridge Energy will begin work on a section of pipeline between Marysville and Sarnia in the new year, pending US and Canadian approval, as part of a multi step plan outlined by the pipeline company this week. Enbridge Spokesman Ryan Duffy tells WPHM the over 60 year old pipeline will be replaced with a new crossing beneath the river bed for added security. Duffy says work will begin in 2018 on the section of pipeline between Marysville and Sarnia, and says Enbridge will use a horizontal drilling technique to run the pipeline beneath the river bed. Enbridge will also be looking at options to replace the line 5 crossing in the Straits of Mackinac.
