Jeweler sentenced to prison time

Former Port Huron Jeweler Rick Currie will face two to ten years in prison after being sentenced yesterday in St. Clair County Circuit Court. Currie, who owned the Master Goldsmith Rick Currie jewelry store in downtown Port Huron left town after he was evicted in January, taking thousands of dollars of people’s valuables with him. Currie was arrested near Jasper, Florida in February and was extradited to Port Huron to stand trial. Currie plead guilty to six counts of larceny by conversion charges.
