California Developer Jeffery Katofsky showed off the progress being made at the St. Clair Inn during a media tour on Thursday. Katofsky, who purchased the property in 2016, says it could reopen as early as Spring of 2019. Among the features of the new St. Clair Inn will be a speakeasy pub, three bungalows that will be available for rent by guests, a ballroom, an improved waterfront, and 109 hotel rooms. The developer, who is investing millions of dollars into the St. Clair Inn will also be making a splash in Port Huron. Katofsky announced Thursday that he has entered into an agreement to purchase the Harrington Inn in Port Huron. He says the Harrington project would be a ten to fifteen million dollar project as it is not as “far gone” as the St. Clair Inn property was. Katofsky says once crews finish up work in St. Clair they will begin renovations at the Harrington next year.
