As we come off the long holiday weekend, drivers will still be greeted with gas prices above the three-dollar mark. AAA of Michigan says statewide gas prices have increased about a dime over the past week, reaching an average of $3.10 a gallon for regular unleaded. That’s about 65 cents more than the same time last year, marking the most expensive Memorial Day at the pump since 2014. Across the local area, pumps in Lapeer are asking about $3.09 per gallon, in Sandusky gas is $3.10, and Port Huron area pumps are asking about $3.02 per gallon. Across the state, the lowest prices can be found in Marquette where it’s about $3.00 per gallon and the highest prices are in Ann Arbor where gas is $3.14.
