The Port Huron Area School District is getting ready for the new school year. With less than a week until the first day of school, Port Huron Schools Superintendent Jamie Cain says construction on area school buildings will be wrapping up this week. Cain says four buildings have been remodeled as a part of the district’s bond proposal. Although the process has endured construction delays, they will be open in time for Tuesday’s first day of school. Cain says Crull Elementary, Michigamme Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Elementary and Holland Woods Middle School are expected to receive the approval of the fire Marshall this week. He also says with  the new school year will also come some new apparel for students at the Clevelend and Woodrow Wilson academies. Superintendent Cain says a uniform, consisting of a polo shirt, will be issued to students of both schools. He tells WPHM it will help parents save on back-to-school spending and “build a sense of community and identity.” The first day of school in the Port Huron Area School District is Tuesday September 4th.
