The California developer who purchased the St. Clair Inn is about ready to close on another historic hotel. Jeff Katofsky tells WPHM he expects to close on the Harrington Inn property in Downtown Port Huron in the coming days. He announced earlier this year that he has entered into a purchase agreement to buy the historic Military Street building. Meanwhile, in St. Clair, work is set to begin on a project across the street from the St. Clair Inn. Katofsky, speaking to WPHM yesterday, says an additional building will be built on the west side of M-29 in St. Clair. He says ground breaking on that project could begin as soon as Friday. It will house the St. Clair Inn’s, gym, spa, and several retail stores. Katofsky expects a spring 2019 opening for the St. Clair Inn, with workers then moving north to the Harrington to being work on that site.
