Good news for those who frequent St. Clair Highway over the Belle River in China Township…. construction of a new bridge will be wrapping up by the end of the month. According to the St. Clair County Road Commission, a ribbon cutting for the new St. Clair Highway Bridge will be held on September 20th. The crossing has been closed for over two years. The new St. Clair Highway Bridge is of a steel truss design, which is quicker to build than other bridges and came in about $600,000 dollars under budget – with a final price tag of about $2.5 million.
