Sheriff’s Deputies in Lapeer County say foggy conditions are to blame for a crash that occurred earlier this week near North Branch. A S.U.V. operated by a 53 year old Ubly woman was traveling west on Barns Road in Burlington Township shortly before 7am Tuesday morning. She reportedly did not notice a stop sign at the intersection of Jefferson and struck another S.U.V. operated by a 45 year old Clifford woman. Both vehicles left the roadway and the Ubly woman’s vehicle overturned on its roof. She was taken to McLaren Lapeer Hospital with life threatening injuries. The Clifford woman was uninjured. Deputies say weather conditions and reduced visibility were contributing factors to the accident.
