The 2018 Community Roof Sit, benefiting the St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council, is now under way at a new location. Yesterday afternoon, WSAQ morning personality Matt Markham climbed to the top of the Michigan Mutual Mortgage building in the 900 block of Military Street in Downtown Port Huron. There he will live for the course of the week, collecting everything from pocket change to giant checks all “for kid’s sake”. CAN council executive director Sherry Archibald says it’s their biggest fundraiser of the year, accounting for up to 73% of their budget. Archibald says you can stop by the Michigan Mutual building all week and drop your donation in the bucket. You can also call 1-866-852-KIDS to make your donation. This year’s goal is $125,000 dollars.
