A Port Huron man is recovering from a gunshot wound stemming from an argument yesterday afternoon. It happened at a party store located at the corner of Griswold and Range Roads where a father was to exchange two young children with their mother and her boyfriend. The father first went to the mother’s house and was instructed that he should instead go to the court designated exchange spot, which was the party store parking lot. When he arrived at the party store parking lot, the mother’s boyfriend, a 32 year old St. Clair man got into an argument with the father, a 30 year old Port Huron man. Sheriff’s deputies say the boyfriend is believed to have fired a handgun one time, striking the Port Huron man in the hand. The two children, who were in the suspect’s vehicle at the time of the shooting, were not harmed. They were turned over to the mother by deputies at her residence. Investigations are underway.
