Work will resume on the original span of the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron on Tuesday. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, westbound traffic entering the United States will be held for up to one hour at a time starting at 11pm Tuesday night. This is to accomidate ongoing steel repairs to the 80 year old bridge. M.D.O.T. says traffic will be held for two periods of time and that crews will allow traffic to cross in between these closures to reduce congestion. In an effort to reduce the impact on motorists, the work is being completed overnight and is weather dependent. The construction is part of a $3.6 million investment in the steel of the original span of the bridge.
