The original span of the Blue Water Bridge will once again be closing intermittently this evening for the final phases of a construction project. The Michigan Department of Transportation will close the westbound span of the Blue Water Bridge to traffic entering the United States for two short periods tonight and Monday night. The work will be completed after 11pm to minimize the impact on motorists. The closure is part of an overall $3.6 million investment in steel structural repairs to the 80 year old bridge. Traffic will be held for no longer than an hour at a time and is weather dependent.
