Port Huron’s Bike Share program, a partnership between the City’s Downtown Development Authority and other agencies will continue in 2019. At a meeting last week of the D.D.A., City Manager James Freed says funding has been secured for the program. The Zagster bicycles are available to rent at four locations throughout the city. Those who wish to rent a bike must first download Zagster app which is used to unlock the bikes from the self serve kiosks. Currently, kiosks are located at the Blue Water Convention Center, SC4, the Community Foundation, and the Blue Water Transit Center. Freed, speaking to WPHM Tuesday, says he hopes the program can expand to other areas of the city. “We’re looking for more sponsors who want to continue it,” Freed said. “We’d like to see three or four more stations rolled out into the neighborhoods.” Current sponsors of the program are Blue Water Area Transit, St. Clair County Community College, The Blue Water Convention and Visitors Bureau, Port Huron’s Downtown Development Authority, and a local law firm. The total cost to the city for 2019 will be $3,570. For more information, visit http://bike.zagster.com/porthuronmi/
