Saturday is National Drug Take back day, an event put on by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration along with local law enforcement and health agencies. Locally, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting unused or outdated medications at their Michigan Road office Saturday from 10am to 2pm. This marks the 16th year that the Sheriff’s Office has teamed up with the DEA to collect pills.  So far, more than 1600 pounds of pills have been collected and disposed properly. Also on Saturday, St. Clair County Community Mental Health will hold a similar drug take back event at the Blue Water Transit Center’s “Sail In Cafe” on McMorran Boulevard. That event will also take place from 10am to 2pm and is in conjunction with the Port Huron Police Department.
