It was a busy night Sunday for members of the Port Huron Fire Department with two structure fires being reported within the course of an hour Sunday night. Battalion Chief Dale Minard, speaking to WPHM this morning, says the first call came in just before 11pm last night for a house in the 2500 block of Military Street. Minard says fire fighters were on the scene for over five hours and that the house was fully involved in flames from the “basement all the way through the attic.” About a half hour after the first fire started, crews were called to the scene of another blaze in the 600 block of Minnie Street. Minard says an outbuilding broke out in flames with crews from Fort Gratiot Township and Marysville assisting. Mutual aid was also provided by firefighters from Sarnia and Port Huron Township. There were no injuries in either fire and investigations continue.
