Gas prices jump by double digits

Gas prices in Michigan are up 12 cents compared to a week ago, that according to AAA of Michigan. The auto club says Michigan drivers are now paying an average price of $2.71 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, which is 28 cents more than last month but about a penny less than this same time last year. Across the state, the cheapest gas can be found in Southwest Michigan and Flint, while the most expensive is in the the Traverse City area. Locally, St. Clair County pumps are asking on average $2.70 a gallon.
