This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan. The goal is to encourage residents to prepare before severe weather strikes this spring and summer. Steps you can take include understanding severe weather warnings, preparing an emergency kit, making an emergency plan, and creating an emergency contact list. There will also be a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 27th. Tornado warning sirens in communities are scheduled to sound at 1pm on Wednesday and you will hear emergency alerts on radio and television stations across the state.
