The Port Huron Area School District is welcoming it’s third in-school police officer. St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean O’Donnell has joined the likes of Port Huron Police Officers Dennis Huisman and Laura Phillips as school resource officers. O’Donnell’s first day on the job was this past Thursday and will become a familiar sight to students at Central and Fort Gratiot Middle Schools, as well as Indian Woods, Keewahdin, Michigammee, and Thomas Edison Elementary Schools. He will also serve Kimball Elementary, which is set to close at the end of the year. The school resource officer program has been in place at the Port Huron Area School District for just over a year now, and Superintendent Jamie Cain says they have made a positive impact on students and staff.
