Voters in Marysville will be going to the polls this November to elect a new mayor and city council. Marysville Mayor Dan Damman, speaking to WPHM, says 2019 will be the last year the city holds elections on odd-numbered years, as City Council took action earlier this year to re-align the city’s elections with the state and federal cycles. Damman says voters will need to select a new councilperson to fill a vacancy. Councilwoman Rita Hendricks resigned from her position on the council last week, due to a new job that would require her to move out of the area. A total of three seats on city council, including Hendricks’ and two incumbents, will be up for election this  year. All will be for one five year term, putting city council in sync with the 2024 elections. After that, each term will be for four years. Damman also tells WPHM that he will not be seeking another term as Mayor of Marysville. The mayor’s position will also be included in this November’s election, which will be for a three year term ending in 2022. A candidate forum for those seeking office in the City of Marysville will be held this Thursday at 5:30pm at the Marysville City Hall.
