Port Huron to approve bids, accept liquor license transfer tonight

Council members in Port Huron will meet in a regular session meeting tonight. City council is expected to receive and file a liquor license transfer for a building at 104 First Street at Desmond Landing. The building used to house Vinomondo Winery and the liquor license will be transferred to Andy Bakko – owner of Wolverine Market in Port Huron. Council will be also asked to approve over $11,000 in funding to help raise the seawall adjacent to the Port Huron Museum’s Huron Lightship in Pine Grove Park tonight. A $7,000 dollar bid is expected to be awarded to Watson Brother Plumbing and Heating of Port Huron tonight for testing and maintenance of sewer back flow prevention devices at city buildings. And a request will be made to the Michigan State Tax Commission to revoke industrial facilities exemption certificates issued to Royal Oak Boring for a facility on Dove Street in the Industrial Park that has ceased production. Port Huron City Council will meet at 7pm tonight at the Municipal Office Center.
